All 19 had gone missing from the project site last week and the Deputy Commissioner confirmed that the body of a laborer was found in a nearby river.
The Border Roads Organization (BRO) is building a vast network of infrastructural projects in the northeastern states, and these laborers were brought in to complete the road works in Damin Circle, a remote area near the India-China border.
According to Deputy Commissioner Bengia Nighi, a body was found. But according to local reports, there is talk that all the laborers in Damin have drowned in the river Kume.

The project site is inside Damin near the India-China border. The workers allegedly pleaded with contractor Bengia Bado to grant him leave to celebrate the festival of Eid, but when the contractor refused permission, they fled on foot, but through the dense forests of Kurung Kume district, the police official said. I went missing.
According to him, 18 laborers are still missing. A rescue team will be sent to the project side to trace the missing laborers and confirm the report of all laborers drowning in the Kumay River.
