32 dead in Assam, floods in Meghalaya, 3,000 villages under water
Governments in the flood-affected districts have issued warnings to encourage people not to leave their homes unless there is an emergency or medical emergency.
The flood situation in Assam and Meghalaya was exacerbated by rising water levels in major rivers and the loss of 32 lives, and constant rains in many parts of the two states caused landslides.

At least 19 lakh people in the 28 districts of Assam were affected by the flood, and the newly formed Bajali district was the worst affected. Water levels on the Brahmaputra and Gauranga rivers were flowing above dangerous levels in many areas, officials said.
The last two days of flooding have killed at least 12 people in Assam. The Meghalaya administration has reported 20 deaths in the last two days.
The government of the area affected by the flood issued a warning, urging people not to leave the house unless there was an emergency or medical emergency.
Most areas of the capital, Guwahati, have been stagnant due to three consecutive days of flooding. Several landslides have also been reported in the city of Guwahati, injuring three people in Ajantanagar in the Noonmati region.

In the Baksa area, part of the bridge collapsed on Wednesday due to constant rainfall and rising water levels on the Dihing River in the Subankhata area.
At least six trains were canceled and four were partially canceled due to flooding on the track between Nalbari and Ghograpar in the Rangiya district of Lower Assam, according to people familiar with the matter.
Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and director Rohit Shetty donated five lakh to a CM relief fund for people affected by the floods in the state, Prime Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted and thanked them for their generous actions. Did.
In Meghalaya, the state government has set up four committees to investigate the four regions of the state. Each committee led by ministers. National Highway No. 6 has been closed due to heavy traffic after a part of the highway collapsed and was washed away.

Both Assam and Meghalaya received 272 mm more rainfall than usual until Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has extended red warnings in two states until this weekend.
