32 killed in Bangladesh ferry fire
The incident took place in the morning near Jhakkathi, a rural town in the south, 250 kilometers (160 miles) south of the capital Dhaka.
At least 32 people were killed when a cargo boat caught fire in southern Bangladesh on Friday.
Local police chief Moinul Islam told AFP: “A fire broke out on the third floor in the middle of the river. We have recovered 32 bodies. The death toll could rise further. Most of the people died in the fire and some drowned after jumping into the river.”

The accident is the latest in a series of similar incidents in the low-lying riverine country.
