4.3-magnitude earthquake strikes Mizoram; Tremors also occurred in Assam and Manipur
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale struck Mizoram on Tuesday. The epicenter of the 7.52 quake was at 46 km ENE from Ngopa and a depth of 15 km.
This comes amid media reports of another 4.9-magnitude earthquake in the Xizang region of Tibet, close to the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh, which struck at 4.29 am. Its tremors were felt in Arunachal Pradesh. Two other earthquakes were followed by two earthquakes in the northeast region.

On Monday, two moderate-intensity earthquakes shook parts of Assam and Manipur. There was no report of any loss of life or property in the earthquake that occurred within 28 minutes on Monday.
According to NCS data, the first earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck southern Assam and struck at a depth of 35 km from the surface.

The second earthquake of magnitude 3.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at a depth of 20 km from the surface and jolted Manipur’s Kangpokpi district and adjoining areas.
