Indian Ambassador Ajay Bisaria extends condolences to the families of the students

India’s High Commissioner to Canada Adja Bisaria said on Monday that five Indian students had been killed in a car accident in Canada on Saturday on a highway in a tractor trailer.
The Indian envoy on Twitter expressed his condolences to the families of the students and said that the Indian Embassy in Toronto was providing all possible assistance to the victims’ friends.

“A shocking tragedy in Canada: 5 Indian students were killed in a car accident near Toronto on Saturday. Two more are in hospital. The deepest condolences to the families of the victims. The @IndiainToronto team is turning to the friends of the victims for help.”

According to Quinte West Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the students killed have been identified as Harprit Singh, Jaspinder Singh, Caranpal Singh, Mohit Chauhan and Pavan Kumar.

Foreign Minister Yaiashan also expressed condolences on the deaths of Indian students killed in the accident.

“I extend my deepest condolences to the departure of 5 Indian students to Canada. Our condolences to the families of the injured. Ask the wounded to recover. @IndiainToronto will provide all necessary assistance and support,” the minister wrote on Twitter.

Two more passengers, who were seriously injured after the accident, were taken to a nearby hospital, police said, adding that an investigation into the accident was under way.
