6 Hardcore Militants Surrendered Before Assam Rifles, and Arunachal police

In the militancy-ravaged Tirap, Changlang and Landing (TCL) areas, six radical rebels – three from NSCN-IM and ENNG – have surrendered to the Assam Rifles and a team of Arunachal Pradesh police.

According to the surrendering cadres, the atrocities committed by the underground organizations against the local people prompted them to take up arms and join the mainstream to show their support against the inhumane activities of the underground organizations.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, during her recent visit to Tirap on April 11, emphasized the need for youth to stay away from militancy and join the mainstream under a new underground surrender policy under government reform and prudent financial management, with a budget of Rs 5 crore.
