6 students from Arunachal reach New Delhi from war-hit Ukraine
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said on Thursday that six students from the state stranded in war-torn Ukraine reached New Delhi as part of an evacuation operation.
He was received by state government officials at the airport in the national capital.
“Six students from Arunachal stranded in Ukraine have just arrived at New Delhi airport. State government officials gave him a warm welcome at the airport,” Khandu said on Twitter.
Those who have returned to India are studying in various universities in the Eastern European country.

The students will stay at Arunachal Bhavan in the national capital till they return to their homes, an official said, adding that arrangements are being made to bring them back to the northeastern state.
Khandu said the Center is working tirelessly to evacuate Indians from Ukraine and the Resident Commissioner’s office in Delhi is reaching out to students stranded in the war-torn country.
The official said that the state government is coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs to rescue the stranded students from Ukraine.
The administration has also provided a web link as well as WhatsApp numbers and email IDs for those stranded in the war-torn country, so that they can reach the authorities.
“At least four more youths from Arunachal Pradesh are still in Ukraine,” the official said.

India is evacuating its citizens from Ukraine’s western neighbors such as Romania, Hungary and Poland through special flights as Ukrainian airspace has been closed since February 24 due to Russian military aggression.
Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the IAF and Indian carriers will operate 19 flights on Thursday to bring back 3,726 people from Ukraine’s neighboring countries.
