9 killed in auto-rickshaw collision with speeding truck in Assam’s Karimganj
At least nine people, including three minors, were killed in a head-on collision between an auto-rickshaw and a speeding truck in Assam’s Karimganj district.
The incident took place in Baithakhal area of Patharkandi police station area of Karimganj district on the Assam–Tripura border on National Highway 8 in the early hours of Thursday.
According to reports, the deceased were returning after performing Chhath Puja.
A police officer in Karimganj district said the accident took place after a head-on collision between a truck and an auto-rickshaw.
“The incident took place in Baithakhal area on National Highway 8. We have received information that at least nine people died in the incident. One body has reached Karimganj Civil Hospital.
