A pharmacy in Manipur was destroyed in a bomb blast
A pharmacy was completely destroyed in a powerful bomb attack in Imphal East district around 2am on Wednesday.
Within minutes of the incident, the police commandos of Porampat police station reached the shop on Khurai Tinsid Road. Police sources said no casualties were reported and no arrests were made.
Police said the blast was so powerful that the shop’s iron shutters flew a few meters away. There were fungi in the shops across the street. The blast caused a huge fire that burned medicine, furniture and other items to ashes.
Police have filed a case and an investigation is underway.
Last month, a bomb was planted at Bobby Pharmacy by the banned National Revolutionary Front, Manipur, police sources said. In a press release, the agency said that the owner of the pharmacy, 40-year-old Meirangthem Bobby of Singjamei Khetri Leikai, was running a “drug business”.
