A senior journalist Bikash Moran commits suicide in Upper Assam
Bikash Moran, a senior journalist from Assam’s Tinsukia district, committed suicide by shooting himself twice on Monday, January 10. The cause of death is not yet known.
In a shocking incident on Monday, 10 January 2022, a well-known journalist from Assam, Bikash Moran, committed suicide. The reason why Bikash killed himself is not yet known.
The journalist committed suicide late in the night at around 12:30 in his residence room. The incident reportedly took place in Tinsukia district of Assam.
According to various sources, Bikash shot himself by firing two rounds in the gun, he shot himself twice in an attempt to kill himself.
Other information regarding the suicide case is not yet known. Police have started a detailed investigation to ascertain the cause of death and other relevant information.
Meanwhile, the police officer has recovered a pistol with the help of which he shot himself from his room.
As a journalist, Bikash Moran worked as a correspondent for a satellite television news channel in Tinsukia district of Assam. He was also the founder of EMFA (Electronic Media Forum Assam) and Digital Media Discussion Board.

Bikash Moran was living in Tinsukia with his mother, wife and three children. He was a senior journalist working as the main bureau of a satellite TV channel in Upper Assam.
He is also known as Senior Journalist throughout the state of Assam having various records in working with many reputed and prominent media companies in Assam.
Journalist suicide cases in Assam have been on the rise for the last few years. Earlier, a 32-year-old senior journalist of a local daily in Kokrajhar district of Assam had committed suicide. She was found hanging in her room.
Another journalist named Amarendra Choudhary from Lanka in Assam also lost his life after committing suicide. The journalist was working in one of the leading satellite media houses of Assam.
