This was not reported to be the first paraglider crash in recent times. In November 2021, a couple from Gujarat only slightly avoided an accident on Nagao’s Diu Beach when their parachute rope broke during a parasailing trip. The duo were dressed in life jackets and were rescued by rescuers.
