Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has claimed that Agartala is slowly becoming the best city in the North East.

After performing Bhoomi Poojan for the first Commercial Complex cum Parking Lot at Old Motor Stand in Agartala, Dr Saha said that Agartala city would be free from traffic congestion after completion of construction of Commercial Complex cum Parking Lot.

“Since the construction will start today, people may face some problems as it is for the overall development. Everyone’s cooperation is needed. We will look into other places in the city where we can set up another parking lot”, he said.

“For the first time, the Tripura has got commercial complex cum parking space. We discussed in detail. As an MLA, I am proud of the people living in the area that such a big project is being constructed here Traffic congestion is a major problem across the country.

Vehicles are increasing with development, so eventually people will look for parking spaces to park their vehicles, which requires proper planning. So we have constructed this commercial complex with parking spaces so that people do not park their vehicles on the road which will help reduce traffic congestion”, he added.

The CM also urged the people to cooperate in the construction work.

He further claimed that Agartala is gradually becoming the best city in the North East.

“Now Agartala is on its way to becoming the best city in the North East. Tourists from outside Tripura say they are fascinated by the state and the development work is on a larger scale than in other states.

We are working on widening NHs from two lanes to four lanes and six NHs are under construction.

He also directed the government to complete the work as soon as possible to start other works
