Another BJP MLA resigns from Tripura Assembly

Agartala: Another BJP MLA from Tripura resigned from the assembly this morning, months before the elections.

BJP MLA Diba Chandra Harangkhal tendered his resignation this morning.

Talking to the media, Harangkhawal said that he has resigned due to personal reasons. However, he indicated that the actual reason would be shared soon.

He submitted his resignation to Tripura Legislative Assembly Secretary BP Karmakar as Speaker Ratan Chakraborty was not available.

The BJP MLA was accompanied by Congress leader and former MLA Ashish Kumar Saha and other leaders. Now he is expected to join the Congress.

With his resignation, the total number of MLAs resigning has gone up to eight. Of these, five are from BJP and three from IPFT.
