Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh visited the site to encourage the soldiers involved in the rescue operation. The weather is expected to continue to be bad due to rain in the morning.
Landslide debris blocked the Ijai River and formed a dam-like reservoir, threatening people living in nearby areas. Earth-movers have been called in to remove the debris, and a channel has been created to allow the flow of water.
