Karimganj police arrested fake jawan of Assam Rifles, case registered, Uniform seized
A fake jawan of Assam Rifles has been arrested from Nilabazar. Ataur Rahman, a resident of Rupargul, was arrested by the Nilambazar police on Saturday night. The arrested person has been involved in taking advantage of the people by playing the army card. He is fooling many local people of the auction market.

While he successfully tricked the local people of the area, it was a step too much for him when he went to the police. A few weeks ago, Ataur came to the Nilambazar police station and asked a female constable to hand over an arrested woman to him, who wants to take her into his custody.
He said so while claiming to be from the Assam Rifles. But due to the caution of the police, he failed to over-smart the police.
After that the police started looking for him. Nilambazar police station OC Suraj Dutta started a search operation on Saturday night in search of this fake jawan of Assam Rifles. The search team found many objectionable clothes on reaching his house in Rupargul.

The OC of Nilambazar said, “When we first saw him walking around the police station, we asked him if he was looking for him. Said it was about a case and addressed him as an Assam Rifles jawan. Later when asked for identification, he failed to produce any identity card.
This made us suspicious and we decided to look into it.” “During our search operation, we found Assam Rifles uniform, cap, belt and pair of shoes.

Accordingly, we registered a case against him and took him into custody”, the OC further added. The accused Attaur was brought to the local police station and where he claimed himself to be a hunter who hunts squirrels in the forest and that is why this dress.
His excuse of camouflage was not accepted by the police and was taken into custody for further investigation.
