
Arunachal Pradesh to get a new airport at Hollongi
Arunachal Pradesh is getting a new greenfield airport at Hollongi. The airport is located about 15 km from Itanagar, and will help in connecting the state by air. The all-new greenfield airport is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 645 crore.
The airport will be developed by the Airports Authority of India, and is going to develop its terminal building, city side works, sidewalks and airside works. The airport will be available for operation of A-321 class aircraft. The airport is expected to extend its runway by 500 meters to accommodate A-321-type aircraft.

The airport is being constructed to accommodate 200 passengers during the peak hours of the day. With an area of 4100 sqm, the airport will have eight check-in counters. The airport is also going to be equipped with all modern facilities for the passengers.

The airport should be ready for operation on 15 August 2022 and according to reports, 80 per cent of the airside work has already been completed. The terminal will be an energy efficient building with rainwater harvesting system and sustainable landscape. There will be other things including medical center, fire station at the airport.
