Marking the 50th year of naming the state, the golden jubilee of Arunachal Pradesh will be celebrated with month-long events across the state as well as outside the state from January 20, 2022, said Speaker of the Legislative Assembly PD Sona.
Announcing the dates of the celebrations at his convention hall in the Assembly here on Wednesday, Sona informed that a Utsav Committee has been constituted under his chairmanship and the committee has decided to organize the month-long festival at Lower Subansiri Headquarters Ziro. will be inaugurated. On January 20, 2022, as in Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh got its name and union territory status in 1972. The closing ceremony will be held at Itanagar on February 20, 2022, on the occasion of the state’s foundation day.
Apart from indigenous games and games, cultural and literary programs will also be there to showcase the rich tradition and culture of the state.
“Through the festival, we will try to enlighten the past and future generations of the state,” Sona said, adding that if anyone has old pictures or videos telling the story of Arunachal Pradesh, they should provide them at the festival. . committee, so that the committee can archive photographs and videos.”
The committee will also run a campaign against substance abuse.

Sona said that the revenue collected during the festival will be donated to “a registered NGO which is working for the social activity.”
Earlier, the speaker unveiled the logo of the Golden Jubilee celebrations.
MLAs Nyamar Karbak and Jhingnu Namchum, Tourism Secretary Sadhna Deori and Disaster Management Secretary Dani Salu were also present in the meeting.
