
Assam BJP chief claims two wheelers will be allowed thrice when petrol price reaches Rs 200
On the increase in the price of mustard oil, Kalita said that after the harvesting of the mustard crop, the prices will come down.
GUWAHATI: Assam BJP president Bhabesh Kalita has reportedly said that the government will allow three-times on two-wheelers once the petrol price reaches Rs 200 per liter in the state.
During an event in Tamulpur he clarified his statement where he has said that people should avoid luxury cars and go for tripling on two wheelers to save fuel.
“I suggested that triple riding can be done only when the price of petrol reaches Rs 200 a litre. When it reaches Rs 200, we can take the permission of the government to allow three people in a bike. and can even manufacture three-seater two-wheelers.” Kalita said.
On the increase in the price of mustard oil, Kalita said that after the harvesting of the mustard crop, the prices will come down.
“We have not started mustard cultivation this year till now. Once we start and the crop is harvested, the oil price will also come down,” he claimed.
On Sunday, Assam Congress leader Angkita Dutta thanked India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the recent surge in fuel prices, which have now reached record-breaking highs. The Congress leader had tweeted, “Thank you Modiji. What an exciting day. Fueled up in my car today in Amguri. Diesel @ 95.13 & Petrol @ 102.71.”
On Saturday, a jump in fuel prices was witnessed across the country for the third consecutive day. As of October 16, 2021, the price of petrol in Guwahati will be Rs. 101.45 per liter while diesel costs Rs. 93.90 per litre. The price of fuel includes excise duty, value added tax (VAT) and dealer commission. The price of petrol has seen an increase of 30 to 35 paise per liter and the price of diesel has seen an increase of 33 to 37 paise per liter on Saturday.
