Assam Chief Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma has asked the state police to clear all pending cases pending in March 2020 or earlier by March 2022.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma on Saturday asked the state police to clear all pending cases pending from March 2020 or earlier in March next year.
The Chief Minister held a meeting with the police officers of Shivsagar and Charaideo districts at the DC Office, Siu-Ka-Fa Conference Hall in Shivsagar and reviewed the law and order situation in the district.
He directed the officers to apply non-bailable clause in case of heinous crime and submit the chargesheet within three months.
Insisting on submitting the post-mortem report within 72 hours, Himanta Bishwa Sharma directed the police to establish better coordination between the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP) and the Joint Director of Health Services.
Himanta Bishwa Sharma asked more officials to convene a conference every month to review crime in the district and intensify the ongoing drug eradication drive.
Himanta Bishwa Sharma called for ensuring timely disposal of PVR and passport verification reports as well as ensuring that no poor person is harassed by the police.
The Chief Minister of Assam also visited the Sew-Ka-Fa Multi-Specialty Hospital at Swargadeo in Rajabari in Shivsagar district and inaugurated an Oxygen PSA plant at the hospital, an ONGC CSR initiative. During the ceremony, he inaugurated a special project of the hospital “Siu-ka-fa Sanjivani”.
Under this project, the hospital will make available 100 oxygen concentrators for the use of general patients with post-covid complications.

CM Himanta Bishwa Sharma also visited the Coved Ward of the hospital and took stock of the treatment facilities.
He held a meeting with police officials at Jorhat Circuit House and directed to ensure regular police patrols in sensitive areas of the district.
