Assam police have rescued five women from a prostitution racket in Kerala and successfully repatriated them to Assam on Tuesday.
The rescued women, aged 20-31, belong to the economically weaker sections of the society, police said. Two of them are residents of Nagaon district of central Assam, the rest are residents of Sonitpur, Morigaon and Hojai districts respectively. The accused are Dilwar Hussain and Ali Akbar (Mastermind) of Hojai district and Ainad Bibi of Nagaon district.
