According to another press release, Lunglei Battalion and Serchip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the supervision of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) delivered lectures on ‘World Suicide Prevention Day’ at Tuipang village in Sentifyang and battalion headquarters in Lunglei on Saturday.

A total of 372 soldiers and 62 local residents from Lunglei, Tuipang and Sentifyang villages attended the lecture, which was aimed at creating awareness about suicide prevention. The aim was to promote self-empowerment so that self-harm and suicide could be addressed.
