Assam Rifles confiscates Myanmar’s currency in Mizoram

Another success in his crusade against smuggling

Another success in its crusade against smuggling, the Lunglei Battalion, under the auspices of Assam Rifles, Inspector General of the 23rd Sector of Assam Rifles (East), recovered 1 kroon of Myanmar currency (Kyat), for a total of Rs 4.2,000. Recently, Khaikhy district in Mizoram Saiha district, said in a press release.

The operation was carried out by a team of 3 Assam Rifles based on specific information.

The Saiha Excise and Drug Administration seized the smuggled goods and detained one person for further proceedings. The ongoing smuggling of foreign exchange is a major concern in Mizoram, especially along the Indian-Myanmar border. Assam Rifles, rightly called the “Northeast Sentinels,” have continued its efforts against smuggling in Mizoram.

INTERACTIONS: According to another press release, the Lunglei Battalion, under the auspices of Assam Rifles (East), Inspector General of the 23rd Sector of Assam Rifles, recently organized a meeting and interaction with the Lungpuk Village VCP.

The aim of the interaction was to raise awareness among local young people in Lungpuk about the employment opportunities provided by various government agencies and skills development schemes to improve the lifestyles of people living in remote areas of Lawngtlai.

The Lunglei Battalion remains committed to providing opportunities for local youth as part of its efforts to “fight drugs.” Youth organizations welcomed the efforts of the Assam Rifle of the Lunglei Battalion to build and improve the local population.
