Assam Rifles recovers arms and ammunitions from Champhai in Mizoram
Assam Rifles personnel on Sunday seized a large cache of war-like shops from Champhai district of Mizoram.
“In a major successful operation against anti-national activities, Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and other war like stores on 10 April 2022 ” read an official statement.
Arms, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered after an operation near Tyao Kawan village in Champhai district of Mizoram, near the Indo-Myanmar border.

“The team had specific information about a possible deal involving the sale of WLS to PDF near the village Tayo Kaw. The team of Assam Rifles suspected the arrival of WLS delivery and reacted to capture the persons,” the statement said.
It added: “However, people were shocked and fled to Myanmar. While running to save himself from being caught by his own team, the suspects left the bag at a war-like storefront. ,
“Such war-like use of stores could endanger the lives of innocent people and give rise to various illegal activities. This recovery has prevented the loss of precious lives,” it added.

“Assam Rifles team suspected the delivery of warlike shops to come and reacted to nab the persons. However, the individuals were shocked and fled to Myanmar.
While running to save himself from being caught by his own team, the suspects left the bag along with the warlike shops on the spot.

The use of such warlike shops could endanger the lives of innocent people and lead to various illegal activities. This recovery has prevented the loss of precious lives,” the Assam Rifles official told ANI on anonymity.
