Assam Rifles seizes drugs worth Rs 167.86 cr near Mizoram border
In Mizoram, the Assam Rifles and the state police have made one of the biggest seizures of banned methamphetamine bullets worth Rs 167.86 crore near the Indo-Myanmar border.
In the operation, a consignment of 5,05,000 Methamphetamine tablets weighing 55.80 kg was seized from the possession of a female peddler. The Assam Rifles claimed that this is the largest ever drug haul in any single operation in Mizoram.

The Assam Rifles said in a press note that the operation was carried out on Friday night by the Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles and the state police at Melbuk village in Champhai district.
Based on a tip-off, the Joint Patrol intercepted a suspicious vehicle near Melbuk Cemetery in the village and hid 50 bundles of methamphetamine tablets in various compartments of the vehicle.
Assam Rifles officials said that both the accused and the seized contraband material were handed over to Jokhawthar police station last night for further investigation and legal proceedings.
