Samrat Nath from Assam’s Karimganj district has developed this electric bike, which is powered by lithium-ion batteries recycled from used laptops. The bike is likely to offer a range of 60 km on a single charge at a speed of 40 km per hour.

“I have invented the smarty electric bike to escape robbery. It has excellent security features. If someone tries to steal my bike, a message will immediately appear on my smartphone and the bike theft alarm will start to sound,” said Nath.

“I can control this bike from anywhere in the world using the app I developed specifically for its operation. I have installed another device on this bike that can be installed on any other electric bike. We can control you from all corners of the world and also track your live location. It is totally safe,” he added.

He also installed a fingerprint feature to add extra security to his bike.

He revealed that it took him four years to complete his childhood dream of creating a bicycle on his own. He said that he came up with the idea to develop such an electric bike in 2016, while studying in the eighth class.
