
Belarusian fighters in Ukrainian army to deal with Russians
Members of the battalion took the oath and became part of the armed forces of Ukraine.
A report says foreign fighters from Belarus have officially joined the Ukrainian army against Russia’s opponents as they enter the 31st day of the Moscow invasion on Saturday.
A video shared by The Kiev Independent shows the battalion being sworn in by Belarus. The Belarusian language is endangered because the regime of dictator Alexander Lukashenko favors Russians and discriminates against Belarusian speakers, who are already a minority, the report claims.

Earlier, the report suggested that foreign fighters from Belarus left the western city of Lviv on Wednesday en route to the Ukrainian capital Kiev to fight the ongoing war against Russia.
“We will fight for the independence of Ukraine. Because, we know very well that if Ukraine is not independent, Belarus will not be independent in the future,” said Pavel Kulazhanka, the group’s leader.
Kulazanka insisted that, unlike Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, they would side with the Ukrainians.

Lukashenko, who has ruled Belarus for 27 years without a hitch, is backing Russia in the war.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is using Belarus as a platform for his war. Russian troops have entered Ukraine through the northern Belarusian border.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has again called on Russia to negotiate an end to the war, but said Ukraine would not agree to give up any of its territory in the interests of peace. In his video address to the nation Friday night, Zelensky was seen responding to Deputy Chief of Staff General Sergei Rudskoi of the Russian General Staff, who said that Russian forces would now focus on “the main goal, the release of Donbass.”

Russian-backed separatists have controlled part of the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine since 2014, and Russian forces are fighting to seize more territory, including the besieged city of Mariupol, from Ukraine.
