Case against 36 teachers in Assam who got jobs with fake certificates
Several accused have been brought to the CID headquarters from different districts of Assam for questioning and verification of documents, the statement said.
GUWAHATI: The Criminal Investigation Department of the Assam Police has registered a case against 36 teachers who got jobs in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) with allegedly “forged” Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) certificates.
A statement issued by the police department said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had directed the CID Assam to register a case following a complaint that the teachers had “fake” TET to get jobs to the Director of Education in BTR, Kokrajhar. Certificates were submitted. Monday.
An inquiry was conducted and the allegation was found to be true.
TET certificate is mandatory for appointment of teachers in government schools.
Several accused have been brought to the CID headquarters from different districts of Assam for questioning and verification of documents, the statement said.
“The investigation conducted so far has revealed that forged TET certificates were presented as if the accused had qualified even though they failed the test, in some cases fake roll numbers have been used, and in some others In the cases the roll numbers of successful candidates were misused by the candidates for forging fake certificates,” the statement said.
He said that a special investigation team of CID has been constituted to probe the matter.
