
Chief Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma Says there is no lockdown in Assam
Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Bishwa Sharma has urged everyone to take both doses of COVID-19 vaccine, saying there would be no lockdown in the state.
CM Sarma’s statement came after a slight increase in Kovid-19 cases in the state.
He said there would be no lockdown in the state at the moment, but everyone would have to get vaccinated.
After the end of Durga Puja, some cases of Kovid-19 started coming up in different parts of the state.
Since last week, the state has been witnessing more than 300 Covid-19 cases every day.
As of Saturday, the state had registered 324 positive cases with a positive rate of 0.81 percent. In Assam, the highest number of 88 cases was reported in Kamrup district, followed by Barpeta 50, Jorhat 21 and Kamrup Grameen 17. Total numbers 6, 08, 450.
