Chief of the Nepalese Army holds talks with the Director General of Assam Rifle
The Chief of the Nepalese army, Prabhuram Sharma, talked here on Tuesday with Lieutenant General Pradep Chandran Nair, Director General of the Indian Army Assam Rifle, and discussed issues related to bilateral interests and mutual cooperation.
Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force, provides security in the Northeast and plays a diverse role, ranging from security to prosperity and development assistance to the people.

During the meeting, the two army officials discussed issues related to bilateral interests and mutual cooperation, according to Nepalese army headquarters sources.
“The Nepalese army believes that such visits will further strengthen and deepen the relationship between the two neighboring armies,” they said.
The meeting took place a few days after Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba visited India and met with Prime Minister Narendr Modi.

The two countries opened a cross-border rail network, a power line and launched India’s RuPay payment card in Nepal after committing widely to significantly expand bilateral relations.

The two sides also signed four pacts to expand cooperation in the fields of railways and energy.
