Dispur police arrested 2 women for driving under the influence of alcohol
Both the women allegedly reached Dispur police station in a state of intoxication in a luxury car and started creating ruckus.
GUWAHATI: Dispur Police has arrested two women for driving under the influence of alcohol on Saturday night. Both the women allegedly created ruckus at Dispur police station.
According to the information received, the traffic police officer of Dispur had taken both the women into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol. Later, both the girls reached Dispur police station in a state of intoxication in a luxurious car and started creating ruckus.
The registration number of the luxury car in which both the women reached was AR 01 N 1101.
Both the women have now been kept in the custody of Panbazar Mahila Police Station. Earlier, both the women had undergone a health check-up at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Earlier on October 1, Rajkumari Bora, an event manager by profession, hit 9 laborers in the Rukminigaon area of Guwahati late in the evening. During this, the leg of a laborer was amputated. All the 9 laborers were immediately shifted to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
The event manager was later arrested by the police and the Assam Police registered a case under sections 279, 294, 388 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Barua’s driving license has been confiscated by Kamrup (M) District Transport Office and the process of canceling his license has also been started.
