Donald Trump explains why Vladimir Putin attacked Ukraine?
He believes the war would never have started if he had been in the White House
Donald Trump had a notoriously close relationship with Vladimir Putin during his term as US President, even as the US labeled the Russian president a friend, although he has now disclosed this. Why did Putin invade Ukraine?
Trump has been widely criticized for his public praise of Putin, but he doesn’t really mind as long as his own base continues to applaud his every move.

“He wants to rebuild the Soviet Union,” Trump told Jeanine Pirro in a radio interview with Fox News.
“They had a country, you could see it was a country where there was a lot of love and, you know, we’re doing it because somebody wants to make their country bigger or the way it used to be. Wants to recreate him when it really wasn’t working out very well.”

Trump continued to describe Putin as a man with a big ego who would do ‘unspeakable things’ if he continues to feel surrounded by Ukrainian resistance and Western sanctions.
