Donetsk oil depot caught fire by Ukrainian shelling
The head of the city’s administration said on Tuesday that an oil depot in the Russian-controlled region of eastern Ukraine caught fire overnight after Ukrainian forces opened fire on the city of Donetsk.
“As a result of overnight shelling in Budenovsky district, a fire broke out in a fuel storage warehouse,” Donetsk Mayor Alexei Kulemzin said in a post on the Telegram social network.
Donetsk’s emergency services said there were no casualties in the fire. Kulemzin said the fire was extinguished around 1000 a.m. local time.
Footage shared on social media shows a blazing fire near oil tanks on a railway track at a storage depot.

Donetsk is the capital of the separatist Russian-backed “Donetsk People’s Republic” – a separate entity in Ukraine’s Donbass region, recognized only by Russia, Syria and North Korea.
