Duliajan’s ‘Kidnapped’ minor girl rescued in Bongaigaon
GUWAHATI: The minor girl, who was allegedly abducted from Duliajan in Dibrugarh district of Assam, has been rescued by the police from Bongaigaon district.
The 17-year-old girl was rescued by the police from Char area ofDuliajan’s ‘Kidnapped’ minor girl rescued in Bongaigaon Bongaigaon district of Assam.
“The girl who was abducted from Duliajan-Dibrugarh has been recovered in Bongaigaon and will be reunited with the family,” said Special DG of Assam Police GP Singh.
On January 1, a missing complaint was lodged by the father of the ‘abducted’ girl at the Duliajan police station in Assam.
“My daughter… went to Gogoi Bazar for tuition at around 6 pm on 31st December. But she did not return. He didn’t even answer phone calls,” Bharat Agarwal, father of the abducted girl, said in the FIR.

The person who abducted the minor girl has been identified as Zahidul Ali, a local hawker from Barpeta district of Assam.
Bharat Aggarwal alleged that Zahidul Ali had ‘kidnapped’ his daughter as he too had gone missing since that day.
Although Bharat Aggarwal has not written the name of Zahidul Ali in the FIR.
Notably, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had directed the Dibrugarh police to investigate the ‘abduction’ of the minor girl.
