Four killed and 15 injured as van falls into gorge in Arunachal Pradesh
Superintendent of Police Dusu Kaling said the accident occurred on Sunday evening when the passengers were on their way from Tali to Palin after attending a fellowship programme.
Four women were killed and 15 others were injured, nine of them critical, after a pickup van skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kra Dadi district of Arunachal Pradesh. The police gave this information on Monday.
Superintendent of Police Dusu Kaling said the accident occurred on Sunday evening when the passengers were on their way from Tali to Palin after attending a fellowship programme.
He said the vehicle skidded off the road near the Kume bridge point in Kuwa and fell into a 20-metre deep gorge over the Kumay river.
Kalinga said four women passengers died on the spot, while nine others suffered serious injuries and six suffered minor injuries.

The seriously injured have been sent to Itanagar, while the rest are being treated at Palin, the official said.
He said only four occupants, including the driver, were men while the rest were women.
The deceased have been identified as Bohu Poyum, Nich Nenia, Toku Yachi and Goda Yak, the SP said.
Tali Circle Officer (CO) Gina Bagang said the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while climbing the hill and the pickup van came down in the opposite direction before falling into the ditch.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the accident.
“Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate tragic vehicle accident near Kuwa bridge point between Tali and Palin in Kara-Dadi district. My deepest condolences. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured. Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) sanctioned under ex-gratia,” Mr Khandu tweeted.
