Ukraine opposes Canada to hand over a turbine to Russian state-controlled Gazprom for natural gas supplies to Germany as the move would run counter to sanctions against Russia, a source from the ministry told Reuters. Ukrainian energy.

A high-level energy ministry source told Reuters that Ukraine had information that Canada was preparing to deliver the turbine.

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko in June pressured Canada not to return the turbine to the Russian natural gas giant, according to a letter seen by Reuters.

“There are seven turbines, this is just one of them, and the ones that are now in operation are sufficient for full capacity,” the energy ministry source said.
