Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Sikkim on 20 November
In addition, the Home Minister will lay the foundation stone of Sikkim State University, which will now be known as Kangchenjunga Sikkim State University.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Gole announced on 27 October that Home Minister Amit Shah was scheduled to visit Sikkim on 20 November.
However, the duration of their stay has not been fixed.
Addressing the occasion, Chief Minister Prem Singh Gole at the inauguration of Indoor Sports Arena in Gangtok said, “The Home Minister is coming to Sikkim on the basis of cooperative societies’ events, to promote them. He, being the concerned Minister of the Ministry of Cooperation, is focusing on the development of cooperatives. We have completed our work with Sikkim Milk Union and Dairy Farming, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), vegetables being brought in, incentives given to them.
In addition, the Home Minister will lay the foundation stone of Sikkim State University, now known as Kangchenjunga Sikkim State University, at Temi Nymphing, South Sikkim. The move comes after the cancellation of Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu last week.
