GUWAHATI: The Assam authorities has constituted a sub-committee with the government and members of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) to examine the implementation of the Assam Accord.
In a notification, it was mentioned that the Governor of Assam has appointed a Deputy to look at and formulate a framework for the implementation of all clauses of the Assam Accord with particular emphasis on Clause-6 (Report of the High Stage Committee). – Has been pleased to represent the committee. Updation of National Register of Residents together with Part-7, Part-9 and Part-10, issues of flood and erosion, rehabilitation of families of martyrs and victims of Assam Movement in addition to numerous issues being faced by the State of Assam. In relation to which additionally includes the potential for all-round financial improvement.
The choice on this direction was taken after a marathon meeting of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with a delegation of 41 leaders of the All Assam Students Union (AASU) Central Committee on the State Guest House in Koinadhara right here.
Assam Accord Implementation Minister Atul Bora stated the high-powered committee would have representatives of the state authorities and leaders of AASU as its members. He stated that the committee would submit its report back to the Chief Minister within three months of its formation. Bora stated Tuesday’s meeting was held in a good atmosphere. The meeting mentioned the implementation of Clauses 6, 7, 9 and 10 of the Assam Accord. He stated that the Chief Minister and the AASU leadership exchanged views and recommendations on the implementation of the above sections.
