Meghalaya bus accident: Rescue teams and emergency services rushed to the spot to help the victims.
Shillong: At the very least 21 people have been killed when a bus carrying 21 passengers fell right into a river in Meghalaya. Tonight at 12 o’clock when a night fell on the Ringdi river in Nongchram.
Rescue teams and emergency services arrived on the scene to assist the victims.
Sources stated 4 bodies have been recovered from the river and two bodies are still caught within the bus.
Police stated 16 passengers have been rescued and taken to a nearby hospital.
The accident happened at Nongchram Bridge which borders East Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills district.

A number of injured passengers informed locals the bus was speeding on the time of the accident.
According to the source, the front a part of the bus hit the bridge post and fell into the water.
The bus driver was also among the dead.
