
Indian teenager kidnaps from Arunachal Pradesh by Chinese army
MP Tapir Gao said the teenager, identified as Miram Taron, was abducted by the PLA from Lungta Jor area on Tuesday.
China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has kidnapped a 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh‘s Upper Siang district, state MP Tapir Gao said on Wednesday.
Mr Gao said the teenager, identified as Miram Taran, was abducted by the PLA from Lungta Jor area on Tuesday.
Taran’s friend Johnny Yaying, who managed to escape, informed the authorities about the abduction by the PLA, Mr Gao told news agency PTI over phone from Ziro, the district headquarters of Lower Subansiri district.
Both are local hunters from Jido village.
The MP said the incident took place near the point from where the Tsangpo river enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.
Tsangpo River is known as Siang in Arunachal Pradesh and Brahmaputra in Assam.
Earlier, Mr. Gao had tweeted: “Chinese #PLA kidnapped Mr. Miram Taron, 17, of Jido Ville. Yesterday, 18 Jan 2022, from inside Indian territory, Lungta Jor area (China killed India in 2018). Siungla area (Bishing village) of Upper Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh under built 3-4 km road inside.

“His friend fled from the PLA and informed the authorities.
“All agencies of the Government of India are requested to take steps for his early release,” he said in another tweet. He posted pictures of the kidnapped boy.
The MP also said that he has apprised Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik about the incident and requested him to take necessary action in this regard.

He also tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the Indian Army in his tweet.
In September 2020, the PLA kidnapped five boys from Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh and released them after almost a week.
The latest incident comes at a time when the Indian Army is engaged in a standoff with the PLA in eastern Ladakh since April 2020.
