Kyiv attacked by kamikaze drones
Russia has hit Ukraine with a wave of strikes, dive-bombing the capital Kyiv with what appears to be Iranian-made kamikaze drones.
According to Prime Minister Denis Shyagal, the airstrikes affected critical infrastructure in three areas, cutting power to hundreds of villages across the country.
At least eight people were killed, four in Sumy and four in Kyiv.
Calls have risen for sanctions on Iran, which denies supplying drones.

A week earlier, the Ukrainian capital was hit by Russian missiles during a rush hour, part of nationwide strikes that killed 19 people.
Mr Shyagal said the new attacks affected the regions of Kyiv, Dnipro and Sumy.
According to Ukraine’s Deputy Interior Minister Yevgenyenin, four people were killed when a power generation plant in Sumy struck.
Yesenin warned, “Russia is looking for all energy-related facilities.” “They want to create chaos in the energy industry.”
Andrey Yermak, chief of staff to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, said: “It shows his desperation.”
In the port city of Mykolaiv, sunflower oil tanks were set ablaze by suicide drones, the city’s mayor, Oleksandr Senkevich, said.
Mr Senkevich said three drones ignited tanks in Mykolaiv late Sunday, hours before the attack in Kyiv.
A Ukrainian air force official said 37 drones had been destroyed since last night, all of which had entered the country from the south.

The low echo of slow-moving drones is becoming familiar across the country.
The city erupted with gunshots as anti-aircraft batteries tried to knock them down. The video on social media was seen showing an interception.
The eruption began at around 06:30 local time (03:30 GMT) on Monday. The most recent time was around 08:10 local time.
Two were close to the city center, with sirens and car alarms being heard throughout the area.
“The enemy may attack our cities, but it will not be able to break us in,” President Zelensky described the attacks as “terrorizing the civilian population.”
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaly Klitschko, described the attacks as “a genocide of the Ukrainian people. The Russians need Ukraine without Ukrainians.”
Mr Klitschko said city officials were expecting air defense systems to arrive soon to protect the capital from drone strikes.
A Reuters news agency journalist reported seeing fragments of the drone used in the attack, which contained the words “for Belgorod”.
The Russian border town of Belgorod has been affected several times since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Moscow blamed Kyiv for the attacks.
Two gunmen who volunteered to fight in Ukraine killed 11 people on Saturday at a Russian military training camp in the Belgorod region.
Writing on the Telegram social media site, Mr Klitschko said there were four attacks in Kyiv, although residents heard five or six explosions. He also asked people to stay in Air Raid Shelter.

But despite warnings, the roads were far from deserted. Between the first and second set of strikes, many people were going about their Monday morning business.
Mr Yermak described the kamikaze attacks as Russia’s “death blow” and said Ukraine needed more air defense systems “as soon as possible”.
Some EU foreign ministers, including France and Germany, are calling for new sanctions against Iran for supplying drones to Russia.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the bloc would investigate Tehran’s involvement in the conflict.
Despite mounting evidence of Iranian drone use, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani insisted that his country was not a “party to the war”, adding: “We have not supplied any weapons to the side of the Ukraine war.” ”
Russia said on Sunday it had attacked Ukrainian military command facilities and energy systems “over the course of 24 hours” with long-range air and sea-based weapons.
