Manipur Chief Minister has warned to take action against those involved in political violence
Imphal: A day after six people were injured in a political clash in Manipur, Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Tuesday said action would be taken against those involved in the violence.
Assembly elections are due in Manipur in early 2022.
Calling to stay away from violence before the elections, the Chief Minister said that soon licensed guns would be procured from the general public.
Six people were injured in a clash between supporters of a rival political party at Yaripok Yambem village in Andro assembly constituency of Imphal East district.
Imphal East District Authority has imposed a ban under Section 144 of CrPC for two months from Tuesday in view of the violence.
Singh on Tuesday launched a program where people can share their grievances and suggestions directly to the Chief Minister through the helpline number.
