Manipur schools to remain closed till July 24 as test Covid positivity rate stands at 15.6%

The Manipur government on Tuesday ordered the closure of all schools in the states till July 24, 2022, amid a quick rise in the number of COVID-19 cases. The Manipur government also issued a notice regarding the same, which read, “As are the COVID-19 cases.

The test positivity rate ratio in the state is more than 15 per cent, all the schools (government/private) in the state will remain closed till July 24.
For Assam, Manipur reported 59 fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, informed the state health bulletin. On Monday, 47 persons tested positive for the infection.
The Directorate of Health Services in the state said that in Manipur also 15 people have been cured in the last 24 hours. The cumulative cases in the state now stand at 66,135 while 57,264 have recovered in the state.

India, on the other hand, reported 13,615 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 infections to 4,36,52,944.

While the death toll rose to 5,25,474 with 20 new deaths in the last 24 hours. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the active cases rose to 1,31,043.
The ministry said that active cases comprise 0.30 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.50 per cent. The active Covid-19 caseload has registered an increase of 330 cases in a span of 24 hours.
