Meghalaya COVID-19 recovery graph continues to rise
Shillong: The recovery graph of COVID-19 in Meghalaya continues to rise in the north as 101 more people were cured of the virus on Tuesday. With this, the number of recovered cases touched 80,900 even as 65 new cases took the number of active cases to 740.
One more person, who was not vaccinated, died in East Garo Hills, taking the total toll to 1,439. According to the data presented by the Department of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday, the state has recorded 83,079 confirmed cases so far. According to information received from the Directorate of Health Services, East Khasi Hills recorded 43 new Covid-19 cases and 474 active cases on Tuesday. According to official records, nine new cases were reported in West Jaintia Hills, six in West Khasi Hills, two each in West Garo Hills and Ri-Bhoi, one each in East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills.
As per the latest official count, West Khasi Hills district had 144 active Covid-19 cases, West Jaintia Hills 51, Ri-Bhoi 36, West Garo Hills 16, East Jaintia Hills six, South West Khasi five and two One each in East Garo Hills, North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills.
Official reports showed that out of 11,26,461 samples tested for Covid-19 in the state till date, 10,43,382 tested negative.
Meanwhile, 32,068 healthcare workers have received the first dose of the vaccine and 27,733 have been given the second dose. 96,963 frontline workers have got the first jab, and 79,130 have taken the second shot. National Health Mission records state that so far 9,60,266 people across the state have been given the first dose and 457692 have been fully vaccinated.
