
Meghalaya governor urges Center to ensure minimum support price for crops
Meghalaya Governor Satyapal Malik said, “There is only one thing, why are you (Center) not fulfilling it? They (farmers) will not compromise less than MSP.”
Rajasthan: Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday said that if the Center guarantees a Minimum Support Price (MSP) through a law, they can resolve the farmers’ movement against the Agriculture Act.
Noting that the agitating farmers will not settle less than the MSP Guarantee Act, Mr. That’s what farmers need, Malik said.
“If the government (center) provides MSP guarantee through a law, it can be solved (farmers’ movement against three agricultural laws). There is only one thing then why you (center) are not fulfilling it. They (farmers) will not do it. It will pay less than MSP. ”
Farmers have been protesting nationwide since November 26 last year against three new agricultural laws: the Farmers Production Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilities) Act, 2020; Farmers’ Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Agricultural Services Act 2020 and Essential Products (Amendment) Act, 2020.
