Sohra will be the headquarters of South East district, says CM conrad Sangma
SHILLONG: The picturesque location of Sohra in Meghalaya will be the headquarters of the state’s South East district, which will be created in due course.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said this on Thursday.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma insisted that Sohra be upgraded as a district, even though the surrounding areas do not include them.
“We are not going to change it. Now we are going to work around this decision and try to convince people or build infrastructure so that there is access to Pinarsla and Mawsynram area through a bridge or some road Can be made
The Chief Minister of Meghalaya said that if the South East district is created, it will include the areas of Sohra , Pinarsla and Mawsynram.
“Because of the valleys and gorges in these three regions there was a discussion on how do we connect these regions. Do we make brides to bring all of them,” said Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.
