Two ULFA(I) militants apprehended at Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh
The Assam Rifles along with Tirap police on Monday arrested two ULFA (I) cadres near Noglo village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh on the Indo-Myanmar border.
The arrested activists were identified as Corporal Surjit Gogoi himself and Corporal Shyamlal Bora himself.

The two cadres reportedly infiltrated from the ULFA (I) camp in Myanmar and entered Indian territory after being arrested by the joint team.
The cadres were living in Hachi camp, known as the General Military Headquarters of the organization and working under the command of Major General Michael Deka Fukan.
According to sources, the Assam Rifles troops conducted an operation between Border Pillars Nos. 162 and 163 on the basis of a specific input and arrested the cadres.
Sources said that according to the cadres, the current strength in the camp is around 40. More details will be known only after thorough interrogation of the two cadres.

The victims were identified as Surjit Gogoi, a resident of Pengri in Tinsukia district and Shyamlal Bora, a resident of Lakhipathar in Tinsukia district.
The source said the workers were unhappy and wanted to return. “He has realized his mistake by joining the organization.”
The ULFA(I) supremo issued a shoot-at-sight order after the youths fled the camp, after which Gogoi’s wife pleaded with the ULFA(I) to forgive them.
The banned organization is “hanging” two cadres on charges of spying on behalf of the Assam police.

The apprehension of the two cadres is a major setback for the ULFA (I) and a major achievement of the security forces who sensed the movement in time and managed to capture the cadres.
The arrested workers will be handed over to police for further questioning.
