Oil India Limited HQ in Assam Duliajan is under ‘cyber attack’
An FIR has been registered at Duliajan Police Station and the Cyber Cell of Assam Police is probing the matter.
An alleged cyber attack on Oil India Limited (OIL) has led the PSU chief to disable its IT systems at its headquarters at Duliajan in Assam’s Dibrugarh district since Sunday.

“We detected a malfunction in our computers on Sunday. As per protocol, we have deactivated our system as a precautionary measure,” said OIL spokesperson Tridiv Hazarika.
“While the breach affected some servers and computers, upon evaluation, we have observed that our data bank was not affected by any worrisome effects,” he said.
Hazarika said the PSU is taking the help of an internationally reputed IT security consultant. “We are focusing on a restoration exercise. In a phased manner, our computers will be restored,” he said, adding that the attack had not affected the company’s day-to-day production. “Our drilling activities are going on without any interruption,” Hazarika said.

Established in 1889, OIL is India’s second largest national oil and gas company under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India.
