Over 850 women cadets join Assam Rifles
At least 868 women recruited by the new rifle marched in perfect pace during a death parade (POP) on Wednesday at the Assap Rifles Training Center and School (ARTCS) in the Dimapur district of Shokhuvi Nagaland.
The special test parade was to mark the completion of 44 weeks of rigorous training in war crafts, weapons handling, jungle shooting and other counter-terrorism operations.
An Assam Rifle official said the POP was unique in that it featured only women, and the debt was managed by Major Sita Shelke, an ARTCS employee.
The newly calmed riflemen will now all join their respective units on the front line, the official said.

Pedestrian debts reviewed by Brig (suspended) Dr. BD Mishra, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh State, in the presence of Lieutenant General PC Neiram, Director General, Assam Rifles and other officers of the Indian Army and Assam Rifle.
Addressing the new recruits, the governor recalled the rich history of Assamese rifles as the country’s oldest paramilitary force and their diverse role in fighting insurgency in the northeastern region.
The governor urged recruits to keep pace with technology rather than serve the nation with the utmost sincerity.

The governor said he was delighted to take part in this unique POP, which is made up of women and had perhaps the highest number of women leaving an academy or training center anywhere in the country.
