Police seizes 1.25 crore drugs from two women dealers in Arunachal Pradesh
Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP), Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested two drug dealers on Wednesday. Both the drug dealers have been identified as women.
Police seized 471.56 grams (commercial quantity) of banned narcotic substance (heroin) from the possession of women dealers.
The arrested people have been identified as Mariam Basumatari (30) of Hatipatishantipara village in Tezpur in Assam and Chhoti Rapung (18) of Seppa in East Kameng district.
According to sources, the market value of the seized drug would be around Rs 1.25 crore.
The SIT, headed by its SP Rohit Rajbir Singh and OC, Inspector Ngilyang Lali, obtained covert espionage in connection with the movement of large quantities of prohibited heroin using public transport from Dimapur (Nagaland) to Arunachal Pradesh via Assam.

After compiling this data for more than a month, finally, on 12 January, the SIT unit, comprising Inspector Ashok Tayeng, SI Chuman Chena, Constable Dawa Dorji, Nyamar Riba, Tagium Giba, (d) J Sikom, l/ C Sahin Ansari were present. , and L/C Sonam Chiriju carried out an operation to nab these two drug dealers, as they were coming via a night super bus of Blue Hill service running from Dimapur (Nagaland) to Naharlagun.
Police also recovered two mobile phones with SIM cards from Basumatari and Rapung.

Police also said, “Raids are being conducted at various places to continue this operation. A case is being registered under relevant sections and further inquiry is on.”
