According to a report in Euro Weekly News, Russian President Vladimir Putin has narrowly survived an assassination attempt. This information was released on Wednesday on General GVR Telegram channel, it said.

However, the outlet said it is not known when the attempt took place. Rumors have been swirling about the threat to Mr Putin’s health and life since Russia invaded Ukraine in February this year.

The left front wheel of Mr Putin’s limousine exploded heavily, according to a Telegram channel account, Euro Weekly reported, adding that the car was driven quickly to safety, even though smoke emanated from it.
The Russian president was not harmed in the incident, but the outlet said several arrests had been made.
Other news outlets such as news.co.au also reported on the incident, saying Mr Putin was traveling to his official residence in a fake motorcycle amid security concerns.
